What about DiMarzio/IBZ pickups?

Hi to all

That's my first post!

I'm thinking seriously about getting a new Rg2550, because the Jem7vwh it's way too expensive for now, so i'm recalibrating my dreams...The RG seems cool and Hi-quality instrument, and i'm attracted by the dimarzio/ibz pickups on it, but.....what about those p.ups?
I mean, compared with real dimarzio pickups like Evos or Breed...I know the IBZ of the Rg are made by the spcs of ibanez, and i'm concerned they could be something like mid quality pups, like ibanez v7, v8, s1

Thanks for any advice! i'd be grateful

P.S. sorry for my poor english!!!

So what about differences in sound between Evos and DiMarzio/IBZ?

That old post didn't answer my question. I'm wondering if it's woth buying now a 2550 with DiMarzio/IBZ or just wait (a very long time) and get the Jem7vwh with Evos, for what concerns pickup quality and sound...

and what does it means that DiMarzio/IBZ pups lack the smoothness of other DiMarzios?

Replies are very appreciated!

Thanx

ciao Hendrix,

(translation)

hi Hendrix,
i warmly suggest you to get a 2550 all the way. DiMarzio/IBZ are great pickups, powerful and versatile. of course official DiMarzios are the best, but for the money, the 2550 is more than great! you'll be loving it big time, dont waste your money.
i've got many Ibanezes, but no Jems, they're too expensive if compared to a high level RG.

Ciao nuno

Hi nuno
thanx a lot for the warm advice! i'm thinking a lot about the fact the RG2550 is essentially a Jem7dbk without Breed pups...and becuase it costs 3 times less than the 7vwh (that's my dream guitar).... u know.
I think that in a certain way i'll keep dreaming the 7vwh, but it will be a very long term project......i'll buy it when i'll be rich and famous!

bene,

(translation)

great!
you'll see, you'll have nothing else more to desire, if not for some mere aesthetical features (monkey-grip, dino-skin finish etc).
then, after a neat setup, you'll love to run your fingers on the fretboard so much that you won't go to sleep anymore!
let us know!

translation:

Sincerely, I don't know very well ibanez guitars...since I fell in love for the 7vwh i started getting info and visiting this forum...i know all the specs, but i never played a 7vwh The only one I tried is my cousin's DBK....it's a good guitar, but the sudden conversion from my Squire (corean! bleah!) wich as the classica start neck, to the DBK was a little traumatic...Anyway i think it's matter of getting used to....I love ibanez for their propension to the future and for the over the top specs...and they also are pretty much cheapier than starts or gibsons!
Now the point is to gather the money

i've never had any bitter experiences with any of the Prestige models i've tried thusfar in terms of feel. with this said, i feel that the IBZ pickups are hot but they could've been better, to me, they still retain the brashness of the stock V pickups, while lacking the 'smoth' character of an average DiMarzio.

the Jem 7VH sounds very nice split due to its alder body, but the Prestige appeals to me in terms of value for $$$.

ok Hendrix,
