What kinda WOOD?

Does anyone know what kind of wood my guitar is made of. Changing the pups and want to make sure I match the pup with the wood tone. The guitar is an RG270. Don't know what year, but I'm pretty sure it was made in Korea.

I came across a webpage one day that said it could be made of basswood but I lost the link to that page. Help me out if you can.

THANKS!

Re: What kinda WOOD?

IMHO, it's plywood, not real wood. I'm not sure.

Re: What kinda WOOD?

Plywood is still real wood.

I don't think Ibanez gets into plywood bodies until you go down to the GRX series. Even the GRG170 is listed as having a basswood body.

Re: What kinda WOOD?

It will be basswood. So you have lots of pickup choices.
