What to use as "sealer" after routing pickup cavity?

I just widened the length of my bridge pickup cavity, and some of the paint job on the oppoaite side of my cut line chipped and came off. This won't be visible because once the pickup ring is reinstalled, it will cover that area. However, I would like to apply some kind of "sealer" compound to that area before reinstalling the pickup ring, to prevent the paint job remaining on the opposite side of my cut line, from flaking and pealing away further.

Any suggestions? Ideally something that is colorless.

I think a little super glue or clear nail polish might do the trick.
