wiring evo pickups

hi ,ive just looked at the jem evo wiring diagram as im purchasing two evo humbuckers and ive bought new dimarzio 5 way selecter ,tone and volume pots,so im planning on wiring my guitar up the same ,my original wiring just has a 223 capasitor on the tone control but the evos on a jem also have a 331 capasitor on the volume pot too, what difference does this 331 make,do i need one or could i get away with out using one,any help would be great thanks.

Re: wiring evo pickups

i just put an evo in my bridge. Was real easy. Make sure you solder the wires to the connectors, and not cut/splice them. I didnt worry about the caps tho, i just put it in, and sounds ok.

Re: wiring evo pickups

i recently asked dimarzio this question what does the 330 ph cap do on the volume pot and they replied straight away, great service, they said it is to reduce the loss of treble when turning volume down, some people use it and some dont so its not vital but they do fit these on a jem with evo pickups, cheers.
