Wiring H-H dpdt on/on/on for coil split?

Hi,

I would like to wire my pickups with a 3-way toggle switch. I want neck-coilsplit-bridge. I have checked around and I found that the Dimarzio switch ep1111 (4pdt) works (JPM wiring). But I also found a wiring diagram on Dimarzios webpage, can't post a link cause' this is my first post. But it's under wiring diagrams - 2 humbuckers - 3-way toggle or dpdt.

It says in the description that it's supposed to give me these poisitions "Neck, Neck & Bridge Split in Series, Bridge".

But when I draw it up I can't really see it, so I'm wondering if someone has any experience in this configuration.

I haven't tried it myself, but it'll do what it claims. It's the inside coils (bridge then neck) for the middle position btw. If you're not using Dimarzio's, then that might explain why you can't see it. Also, it's not shown, but the green and bare wires from both pickups get soldered to ground.

EDIT:
You'd also be able to get the neck or bridge split by itself in the middle position. It only involves changing one of the solder points.

OK, maybe I'm a bit retarded, but it looks to me that I only get a single split the way it is arranged in the diagram. And I use Dimarzio pickups, so that shouldn't be the problem. Maybe if you soldered the middle two connectors together, but then you would short-circuit something else?

In middle position, "to volume" and "bridge (red)" are connected & "bridge (black)" and neck (black & white) are connected.

The signal goes:
out from volume pot
into bridge (red)
out bridge (black)
into neck (white)
out neck (green) to ground

Thanks alot, I get it now Why would you use a 4pdt for this if it isn't needed?

i just posted a new thread about this kind of wiring, i have the RG2820 with HH and 3way 12 pole switch.
The weird thing is that both of the pickups are wired: red& green together , white, black to ground like this:

1--2--3--4
| | | |
5--6--7--8
| | | |
9--10-11-12

BRIDGE: red&green to 3
white to 9
black to ground

NECK: red&green to 12
white to 2
black to ground
7&8 together to ground
5&6 together to volume 1st pole

I do't know what kind of wiring diagram this is.

With the 4PDT switch, the inner coils are running in parallel instead of in series.

I've got a guitar with a ON ON ON double way switch wired as follow:
- bridge humbucker
- neck humbucker
- neck split coil

Having the neck split in the middle position is not possible, or I must think a little further...
