Wiring Question - Strat

HI guys,

I have received a pre-wired pickguard. I was being cheap, since I don't know if the plywood guitar I'm "fixing" will be any good.

Anyway, the pickguard has three sets of wires coming out of it. ONe is obviously the ground, the other set (black and grey or white) is the output.. But the third wire, which is long with an "0" connection at the end, I have no idea what to do with it.

It is a strat pickguard, if that helps.

Can you help?

3dot, thanks. The one with the "0" is attached to the side of a tone pot, so it tells me it is a ground. But... wiser people would know. Maybe to the ground connection on the jack?

Ah. My guess, then, is that you have your two wires to the jack socket, your ground wire (to the bridge) and that this one could be for screwing down into the body if it has conductive paint or foil around the control cavity, so that that's earthed too.
