Yet another pickups for RG question
I have decided to (finally) get some new pickups for my RG.
It's an RG470(MIJ). Basswood body, maple neck with a rosewood fretboard.
It's hum/single/hum, all stock at the moment.
Im going to be playing this into my Cornford Mk50, playing all sorts of music.
(Metal, rock, blues, jazz, instrumental stuff)
Im looking for a bridge pickup that's fairly tight and defined and not too bassy, as the Cornford gives me a pretty thick tone. It should have enough thickness/warmth for a singing lead sound, but also have a fairly clear rythym tone. It should warm up nicley when the volume is rolled back.
At the moment I am pretty set on getting a DiMarzio Air Norton for the neck position. Im going to keep the stock single. (Because i'm poor and lazy)
In the bridge I was thinking of a DiMarzio Evolution, but I have heard that in chords there isn't too much definition.
I did try a JEM with evo's in my Cornford before and I remember really liking them, but that was quite a while back, and it's a diferent guitar. (Alder body, ebony fretboard).
So, any opinions on the evolution bridge pickup? or any sugestions for other bridge pickups that would get me the tones im looking for?
