Thumbs up Re: State of the NEW forum

This new look is great. Much better than the old board IMO.

I agree. I haven't been a member long, but I snooped around for a long time. I think it was time for a change.
Great job to everyone that got the board back up and running!

Re: State of the NEW forum

I'm sure I'll adjust to all the smooth looking and iconic graphics all over the place. Right now it's a bit 'busy' but I'm sure I'll adjust. Just nice to see the boards up and running properly again. Thanks to everyone who helped make it possible.

Looks great - will take a bit of getting used to, but that's to be expected - I like it, keep up the good work all.

Re: State of the NEW forum

Looking good. Searches are a bit odd though (this my just be my stupidity).

You can't search for "RGA" for example.

"RGA" is too short of a "word" if you will. I believe it has to be atleast 4 characters long. I thought it was the same on the old board too.

Re: State of the NEW forum

I'm pretty sure it worked on the old board. Bit of a pain if you're looking for info on RGA's though! If 3 letters are too short for a search this is a bit of a problem - so many musical items use 3 letter names or codes - ADA, Jem etc.

Re: State of the NEW forum

I personally prefer the "old" forum. PHPBB is a totally simple and user friendly system. This is all too overdesigned for my liking. There are too many little graphics and such that just get in the way.

It seems to work with 'Jem'....it doesnt work with ATD, LGM, GMC etc. I guess it doesnt work for abreviations. Thats kinda a pain I suppose...Also the 'Search only every 15 seconds' is a pain aswell.

I too think vBulletin is way too over-designed, but I think I'll get by. I really miss the old smileys though. The wink one was so trademark of Rich's posts.
