Re: 1992 RG550 Orignal Edge

An RG450 never sold in the US, so it's unlikely that you're seeing a lot (if any) auctions for them. Also, the MIJ RG470 with an Edge (which was sold in the US) was only sold in '93, so again you're not likely to see many auctions for them.

The only guitar you may see regularly at those prices are RG570's, which for some reason don't sell for as much as RG550's.

Re: 1992 RG550 Orignal Edge

These things routinely sell for 300-350 USD, Id try to get SOME money back, maybe 30 pounds or so. Fair is fair imo. He listed falsely (even on accident, still true), and drove his traffic and bids up. Unless its DEAD MINT, that would be my recourse.

Seems like a great price to me I'd have kept it for that price too.

Re: 1992 RG550 Orignal Edge

Ouch - that is quite dishonest of the seller to sell it as a 550, unless they genuinely didn't know. By the sounds of it the 450 wouldn't be too bad a guitar.

Re: 1992 RG550 Orignal Edge

The giveaway is the neck heel. Is it perfectly square or does it get thinner towards the treble side of the neck? Plus what colour is it?

Re: 1992 RG550 Orignal Edge

There's a chance it may just be an RG450. The 1992 RG450's had the Edge trem and rosewood boards. Pics would be a help.

Re: 1992 RG550 Orignal Edge

Like many--yours might be a 91 that has a 92 serial #
Could also be that it is not original--either replacement neck or bridge.

1992 RG550 Orignal Edge

Hi

I have just bought a RG550 but am a bit confused.

The serial number on the neck dates it as a 1992 from Fujigen, however it has the original edge not the lo pro - I thought all RG550s from 1992 had the Lo Pro?

Also it has a Rosewood neck not Maple - which I understand is rare

Any help appreciated

Thanks
