Re: need quick advice

I know, I bought 2 of the 770s before the Reissues came out, when they were rare and cool, not it seems they are popping up everywhere for cheap. Going to keep the Saber and just go forward with the deal for the 2 DXs and the Jackson, and try to beat him up on the price a little bit

Re: need quick advice

I wouldn't trade 3 guitars for it regardless of how much dust they collect.
Ebay is such a crap resource for determining value. Just because a seller has it listed at that price--doesn't mean it will sell for that.
When you see typical RG550s in decent condition listed for much higher prices than better condition 700series, then someone's head isn't screwed on right!
Or, the 770 sellers just need quick cash--that's why you can't determine value by eBay listings.

If it was my situation, I'd just sell the guitars I really don't use, and save up for the guitar I want.

Re: need quick advice

thanks for the posts fellas, I really really love the Caparison, it feels very natural and comfy. I DO NOT ever play the 770DXs for whatever reason, they feel stiff to me and I prefer the 550s or 565s. The Jackson I got in a trade so it's no big deal and the neck is a little more round and thicker than what I'd like.

Trade wise, he is going by ebay and the 770DXs values have tanked. Might have to put it on layaway and sell them myself instead

thanks for the advice...

Re: need quick advice

There are heaps of cheap capas out there, their re sale doesn't seem to hold up.

Re: need quick advice

I'd do the same thing, trade surplus guitars with something that I really love.
looks like 2x RG770DX + jackson is the better option to me.

Re: need quick advice

Have you played the Caparison? If you love it, and it's worth it to you then do the swap.

Re: need quick advice

no other thoughts on the "Ibanez vs. Caparison thing? Is it worth trading 2 or 3 choice Ibanez?

Re: need quick advice

it's got some wear. Cash is scarce at the moment. Trying to turn guitars I dont play into a new guitar. plus, with the sucky Reissues, value on the red and blue DX is DOA.

need quick advice

looking for trade 2-3 Ibanez for a Caparison Snow Cloud Horus...played it this morning and really really love it. He wants $1600 cash or $1800 in trade

guitars for trade are:
91 RG770DX red
92 RG770DX Blue

90 540SLTD DY or PN

Jackson DKNY Hot Road Flame

I DON'T play the RG 770s at all, they sit and collect dust. I am hesitant on the 540SLTD cuz it's got grey bobbins and I like it.

I like the flames on the Jackson, but think the neck is too thick.

what would you guys do?
