IbanezJPM My idea of could easily be brought to is wetsanding the body and buffin it to a near factory gloss, a fret job (6105's here i come!) and a cleaning of Rich's tutorial proportions. lol It does need work. But the pups are clearly marked INF on each pickup. It's a nice guitar and i know the guy who has it. He snagged it off ebay a year or 2 ago. I knew it was a production model. And i'm serious when i say it's a bright ass orange. I guessed at it being the Carotene color. So much for me guessin. lol The only bad spot in the body is the finish crack at the neck joint though.

kirk I think that the seller is trying to name a new Ibanez color. That guitar is a roadflare orange, just a regular production RG550.

As far as INF pickups, I couldn't comment on that. The pickups that came in mine were unmarkedstock Ibanez pickups - maybe they were INF.

The first RG550 I owned was that color, and it was an '87. It is pretty cool, but not rare or prototype material. Depedning on the condition, I would offer $350 w/case if in excellent condition.

You first rated it first in fair condition, and said that it could easily be brought to mint condition, but to me those two descriptions are too far apart.

87 model Japanese RG550CO (Carotene Orange?), Prices anyone?

Anyone got a good estimate of what a 1987 model RG550 in a BRIGHT orange color with edge trem and INF pups in an H/S/H pattern with Wizard neck and what i would call fair condition would be worth? The dealer who has it is askin $450 WITHOUT case. Body is in god condition but has a nice finish check (crack. lol) on te origional style neck joint. I'm seriously lookin at this guitar. It's in decent shape and wouldn't take much to get in mint condition. So c'mon guys gimme a hand. I'm lookin for a reply from Rich here cuz so far he's the man with any question i've ever had. lol But anyone else who can hlep me PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
