Re: to buy an Ibanez RG548

It is the standard 548 with ash, and standard pickups

I am curious about the difference in sound between basswood - maple vs ash-maple/rosewood.

I want to use the guitar as backup for my 770.

Re: to buy an Ibanez RG548

It depends on if it's a standard 548 or a 548LTD...... two totally different guitars.

The LTD is much closer to your 770DX, but has lesser quality pups and a rosewood fretboard with sharkies instead of the maple on your 770.

The Standard 548 is Ash with the same direct mount V-series pups that are in the 548LTD.

I Can buy an ibanez RG548 from 1998 for Ä 350,-

I already have an Ibanez RG770dx from wich I absolutly love! is the 548 comparable? is there a big sound difference between the two?
