I'm sure she'll enjoy it. I've always said these Indo's are a good value for someone that doesn't mind putting in the work and time to get them right initially. After that, they're cake...........and ALL cake is good.
Yes, wild is very good lol i like it.

Its the color she wants, and its a solid base to start with. Maybe one day get the frets done like my UV. Really low and smooth.

I hope she does, its a good hobby for her, and a little cheaper to maintain than the others lol.

Once she gets going, which Im surprised so far, shes actually continuing to play since she got it, itll have some Dimarzo's in it. Probably a tone zone bridge, evo or blaze mid, and evo or blaze neck. She of corse wants pink pups. Shes already swapped the tone knobs for "pink". They arent the same pink as the guitar but mehh, they are strat style atleast. So far it seems good. I was really scared it would have UV70P type issues....

Keep it oiled. It will dry out FAST!!

BTW..... these things sound really full and open with a set of Gravity storms. Mine has a fuller, deeper tone than my 550 with the same pups.

Re: Help finding a guitar for my girlfriend

True, but I think it's a bad idea for one's first guitar to be a floating bridge.
And the OP made it seem like he likes 7's and wanted to get her a 6.
Any used RG5xx series would do if he's thinking of it that way.
Edit: yeah 1997-2002 would be ideal.

Re: Help finding a guitar for my girlfriend

I think the OP is looking for a guitar that both he and his wife will want to play. It sounds like he has some pretty well defined needs. As such, I will second FireEagle's suggestion of an RG520 or other '97-'02 RG5xx.

Re: Help finding a guitar for my girlfriend

I'd say an RG321 or RG421 OR a used RG570 and block the trem.
I'd say the same for any new guitar player.

I'd suggest go to used.guitarcenter.com and look at the used prestiges

HEY!

I'll bet I can restring and set up an OE as fast as, if not faster, than a lot of the guys right on this Ibanez Loving site!
That being said.....I'd suggest a fixed-bridge as a first guitar too.
Or if you get her one with a trem, get either a traditional non-locking (IE: Fender style) bridge, or if push comes to it, block a double-locker.
It just makes life easier for any first time guitar owner.
I love my RG1550, but it was a learning-curve on how to take care of that bridge, especially after the 'ease' of dealing with a simple acoustic.

Re: Help finding a guitar for my girlfriend

Get something basic at first like RG421. It's the perfect learning tool that won't set you back too much. And if she doesn't retain interest, then use that as a serious mod guitar if you are into soldering.
