They made some bad moves. Hopefully they'll eventually understand the demand is sat there waiting and they actually need to start addressing that demand. A DY guitar in full production would sell incredibly well.
1: Take one RG2550 Prestige and put a maple board on it. 2: Paint it in some nice colours like DY and RFR (LNG would KILL). 3: Add a matching headstock. Pretty f*kin simple if you ask me. |

Re: How many RG550's are they making? I got lucky and found a '90 RG550 in LB locally a few days ago, it wasn't a killer deal price-wise, but I decided to grab it anyway since I doubt very many (if any) of the 1987 anniversary models will end up in Finland. If Ibanez had decided to produce more I probably would have waited, but this works for me just as well. I hope that the anniversary models get sold really fast (and that everyone here who wants one gets one) so Ibanez might reconsider color schemes and fretboard materials for the 2008 lineup... |

Dee - I know you're not in a position to buy an RG20TH easily, but I think you're being incredibly bitter about the whole thing. If you want one so badly, beating up people on a forum (like me) and complaining about Ibanez isn't going to help. What about getting a credit card? Taking out a small personal loan? You can then pay it off at your own pace. For what it's worth, I don't have £1600 lying around doing nothing. I've paid my deposits by selling an amp I don't need. I now have 4 months or so to find the cash for the balance, which will include some from an annual bonus from work, some from gigging and some from selling other stuff I no longer use/need. The rest will go onto my credit card and I'll pay it off when I can. If you want something, you find a way to pay for it. A loan is out of the question, btw. I might have to go borrow some cash and try your suggestion. I HAVE to get this guitar, simple as that. |

People don't want "make excuses", and I don't believe they are doing, it's just that some of us are not as well off as you are. The fact that you want them to collect (AKA: to sit there and look at) is also quite an insult to those who want to play them. I would imagine that if you were in my shoes you'd be complaining pretty bad right about now. It's fine for you to talk sh*t because you've got yours on order. Many of us aren't quite so lucky. It's kinda like sitting there hungry while someone stuffs their face with food. Give it up man, be humble (or at least pretend to be), and again, think yourself lucky. Some of us have been waiting 20 years for this guitar, and now it's been sprung upon us and we can't get the cash together in time. Yes, it sucks. No need to rub it in. What a bunch of nonsense...well most of it. If you order one NOW and put 10% down thats roughly $80 you will have 3 or 4 months (thats what my dealer told me they are going to arrive) to make $800. Thats $200 a month. A look in the local newspaper will probably bring plenty of opportunity to make 200 a month, since even the local newspaper guy makes 700 a month. 1 Month of MC or BK job will probably bring it in. |

* I'll only buy it if it has a Lo-Pro * I'll only buy it if it has AANJ * I'll only buy it if it has DiMarzios * I'll only buy it if I can sell my other guitars for a million bucks each etc The 20THs are available to order now and people are making excuses not to buy one. Ibanez can't make 20,000 of the things to sit on shelves for months/years. Anyway, us collectors like limited supply of stuff ![]() |
