Completely true, of course. That doesn't make it a "ground" lug however.

Re: EMG wiring in RGA121

"3 prong" just means there are three places to connect a wire on the jack. Every Ibanez barrel-type jack I've seen has been stereo (3 prong). And by barrel-type jack, I mean something similar to this:

Whereas Fenders (and EMG kits) typically use jacks like this:

For these types, the two-prong version (on the left) is fairly common and would need to be replaced in order to use EMGs. EMG kits come with the 3-prong stereo version (on the right), but that's useless for Ibanez guitars that use the barrel type jack above. However, since the existing barrel jack should already be stereo, it doesn't matter.

Also, I certainly don't agree that the other two prongs on a 3 prong jack are both grounds, that doesn't really make any sense. The longest of the 3 should be the ground while the shortest is where the EMG battery wire is connected. I think. The fact is that this seems to not be a standard among the jack manufacturers.

hehe, you'll have to excuse me I'm from Sweden so I'm a little behind , what does "3 prong" mean? :P

Is the inputjack on the RGA121 a stereo input?

Re: EMG wiring in RGA121

Just remember with EMG's it has to be a stereo input jack. i.e 3 prong.

The middle length lead is the hot, the short one and the long one are both grounds so it doesnt matter which ground goes to which. Hook the battery ground to the shortest one, the other ground to the tallest and the hot, which with EMG is white I believe, to the middle length..

EMG wiring in RGA121

Hi!

I'm done fitting my EMGs in my RGA121 Prestige, finally... Now I'm a bit confused about the wires going to the outputjack. Putting EMGs own outputjack in the guitar didn't work so I'm thinking about using the stock jack that comes with the RGA.

Now, which pin goes to, the battery, hot output and ground?
There are three pins, all of different lengths. Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance!
/Henry
