Re: rg1570 vs. rg2570z

The necks are going to be the same dimensions. You're paying a little more for the pickups and sharktooth inlays. The Dimarzio IBZ pickups are pretty good but a lot of people switch them out for "real" Dimarzio's. I chose to leave them in my RG2550Z that I got in 2008, and I have no plans to change them out anytime soon. I say just go with whatever guitar is prettier in your eyes. If you don't like the pickups, that's a quick, cheap fix.

As far as the tremolos go, if you like floyd rose's or any other non-zero trem, you might not be too crazy about the Edge Zero. This might be especially true if you do a lot of whammy bar stuff. I love the Edge Zero though and probably wouldn't buy a guitar without it.

One plus about the Zero is you can go between standard and drop d using the fine tuner without noticeably affecting the other strings. You don't have to loosen the locking pads up by the nut or adjust the springs in the back.

Re: rg1570 vs. rg2570z

Yeah I would normally agree but the used market here in the UK isn't as big as you guys in the states enjoy, or if it is i guess im just looking in the wrong places. Also the rg1570, being discontinued now are going fairly cheap so it's not so much of a hit to the wallet.

Re: rg1570 vs. rg2570z

Well, typically I'm the very worst person to ask when it comes to purchasing something new, as I just simply don't. I really like letting someone else eat the depreciation from the new purchase so I can scoop it up used for 50 cents on the dollar or better.

For what it's worth, my 1550M-PPN with Edge Pro ($525.00 used and mint with OHSC) is a wonderful instrument. I haven't tried the Edge Zero trem to comment on it, but the Pro seems to work very well.

As for my advice, well....buy something in mint condition off the used market and save your money for other gear and/or upgrades to pups, etc.

rg1570 vs. rg2570z

Hey guys I'm in a bit of a rut in deciding what my next Ibanez is to be. I've been looking at the rg2570z and the rg1570, with the edge pro. The old 1570's are going cheap and have an edge pro as opposed to a EZ but i dunno if there is anything i am missing, Thoughts anyone?
