Re: Strap locks dont fit Prestige case..

I don't like the locking straps or the Dimarzio Cliplocks because I'm not crazy about plastic rubbing on my guitar's finish.

I've been thinking about changing the strap buttons on my RG1420F to the normal Prestige buttons, which are actually more expensive than strap locks. I just don't trust those smaller buttons at all.

I guess I could put strap locks on it, but it just seems like reviews are always so iffy regardless of the brand. It's not like I do any crazy stage antics though.

The RG14xx have smaller strap buttons than the other Prestige models. It's REALLY hard to get a new strap onto the standard Prestige strap buttons because they're so big.

Well I can't vouch for the JEM but I have a RG1421F and it's works wonderfully on it.

Yup I saw those and bought they were great, until I discovered they don't fit over Jem (and prestige?) strap buttons!

Ok, thank you very much. I might just remove them until I need them. They will eventually ruin the nice softy thing in the case if I keep forcing the guitar in there.

Don't try to stuff the buckle down inside, just let them flop on top of the foam and close the case.

Are you talking about the DiMarzio ClipLok straps? If so, just unclasp the main strap part before putting it in the case--all will be fine.

I always remove the strap before putting it away in the case. Otherwise you can wind up imprinting the strap in the finish.

Strap locks dont fit Prestige case..

Hello people. I bought a set of DiMarzio's strap locks and installed them on my RG1570.. the new strap between the guitar and the strap holder makes the guitar about .5cm bigger on each side, and it quite doesnt fit in the case..

I mean it fits, but it's extra tight in there. Is it dangerous for the neck or something? I guess it cant be bad since the extra "pressure", if any, is on the body.. but I couldnt help but ask on here just in case Thanks.
