Re: NGD S1XXV Nuke Greeeeen!

I bought an S1XXV around the middle of this year, it's not a bad guitar. Having said that, I just sold it recently to help fund gas. Fretwork was actually decent on mine, I've heard a bit about other people experiencing fretwork problems with the S1XXV's. It was my first experience with the ZR trem, and I'm looking forward to having another ZR trem in the future, though hopefully it's on something a little more high end.

The fretwork is going to be the down side.
I had mine touched up, now it plays great!
If you want pretty grain on the back of the neck, forget it.
It will be a stable neck over the years I bet, because of the the three piece design.
My fretboard looks good too!

Re: NGD S1XXV Nuke Greeeeen!

I'm really interested in buying the S1XXV.
I used to have great ibanez guitar and and don't want to be disapointed with this one.
Price in France is about 560 usd, it's a fair price, but I know I won't have the quality of a jem or RG prestige, I know that.
The color is amazing, I really dig the shape of the S model.

Changing pickups for Evo ones is not the problem, I have a stock ^^

Should I buy one ???????

I want a good neck quality and good bridge quality....I don't want to have the frets sticking out of the fretboard..........(Is it a remaining problem?)

It is not possible for me to test one guitar before bying it, my store can only order it and then sell it to me. So it's the surprise, good or bad....

What are the main problems related to this guitar ? Bridge, bad fretboard, bad quality of the neck wood ?

So, as a conclusion, is it possible to get a good S1 anniversary, a FLAWLESS one at this price....???? (because if you tell me "yes", it is really a bargain at this price).

A big thanks (and sorry for my poor american speaking ^^)

I agree however if there are other options before having to "nuclear" I will pursue that route 1st.

Re: NGD S1XXV Nuke Greeeeen!

Nice! I love the neck on them but the color is not for me. I tried the 770 (burl top?) but for some reason the neck did not feel the same. I may have to sell a kidney to get a prestige to get the neck I want.

S970- great QC all round, a more inviting neck finish than the Standard S-model. CAP pickups are above-average but like many in-house Ibanez pickups, the bottom end response could be better.

Hey,

New guy here. I bought one of these babies and it's currently getting pink DiMarzios installed along with pink rings, tip and knobs. When I brought it to the shop, they said it needed some fret work. I guess that's to be expected for a $600 gtr made in Indo. I'll post some pics when it comes home.

If the S1XXV was a premium and maybe different inlay I probably would not have bought the RG1XXV.
If the S was a premium...I would have bought it immediately...haha...

Unfortunately I don't think they're releasing more S series...just the RGs
