Do you have any sources for this?

Are there any reliable information about how much units are build from the different Ibanez guitar series?

Personally I like the "sharkfin" inlays more then the dots!

I love a Destroyer with an Edge trem, but those inlays have got to go!

Re: Ibanez Randy Rhoads-unknown model

Thanks for allthe infos about the RR series and the Destroyer/Explorer DT series. I ve read that some people state there are only 78 guitars made in the DT series.

What do you think-is it possible such a little serie for the DT?
Whats about the RR series?
Has anybody information how many are made?
That could mean that these two guitars are very rare and possibly expensive....
And now for your info-I am very happy having a new guitar today -a wonderful DT series modell in a great shape. The same neck, PUs and Trem like the RR.Do you like photos?

Re: Ibanez Randy Rhoads-unknown model

I used to have the red/orange sunburst version as shown above. Purchased new in the early 90ies (92 sounds about right) from a now defunct mail order place in Germany called "Roadrunner". It cost exactly 1200 German Marks back then (Germany has switched to Euro since then). So, at least this one wasn't "Japan only."

This one played really nice - a real shredder, but the pickups sounded aweful. I replaced those almost immediately. My band's other guitar player had the same one... same color even.

Roadrunner later sold a version with the same body style that said "EX" on the headstock. Those cost much less... a few hundred German marks. And from what I've heard they were nowhere close in quality... but those were all over the place.

I miss this guitar. Shouldn't have sold it.

That's very cool, didn't know about these 90s RRs. The burst finish looks nice! I'm guessing these 90s ones have a basswood body...

I think you mean Pro Rock'r , which was used by the '85 model. Bolt-on, alder body, front routed (ugh), oil finished neck, rail pups (V5).

The '86 model was neck-through (5 piece maple/walnut) with alder wings, non recessed Edge, same pups as '85 model. There's a pink one on Atlanta Craigslist atm. Got serious gas for one of these.
