Ibanez uses the SN#s into the following year all the time, it means nothing.

I still believe this was a prototype or demo model since 89 was the official date of release on these.
I'll have to look at mine at some point, but odd ink stamps in the neck pocket and on the neck heel don't usually mean anything. Here's the neck heel from an old Jem

Usually, factory seconds were embossed with an S or a 2 on the back of the headstock.

I'm telling you, the 88 S/N doesn't mean anything. It is very common for Ibanez to build a stock of guitars before they go on sale. My GMC Jem and many others I've seen have 91 serial numbers, yet the guitar was only sold in 1992-93. You just have an early production guitar.

Yep. Wired it up like Lynch. Which is actually why that ibby appealed so much to me was because of the hum/single.

Ride. Theres a 2 on the neck cavity and on the last fret of the board.. also looks like a 2 on the neckplate as well but its faint..

I still believe this was a prototype or demo model since 89 was the official date of release on these. but who really knows. im not concerned with it. its a cool axe.. i forgot how thin these wizard 2 necks are. Whew!. just like a jackson speed neck. i wont play this one much but right now i have my sights set on an axe fx and a good power amp. so thats whats going top list right now.

You mention that you think the guitar is a factory second? What are you seeing that tells you that?

That looks awesome, love it. So wish Ibanez would re-issue the Ps. They were seriously cool.

Just saw the pics corpse!! Awesome!! I can't believe you landed it for that price.

I'd like to find either a trans-top or an eerie-dess Sl-1, but ANY SL-1 is interesting to me.

Im always open to offers. I usually never sell unless i can replace it with something as cool or cooler. but what are you looking for?

Pics and edit coming here in just a few.. Turns out this was a factory 2nd.. Which isnt a big deal to me. i have a warrior pro 1990 same way. No telling what the flaw was.

Ill get time tomorrow. But I like the pup. Very tight and responsive but not as hot as I like. Won't be changing anything. I know a thing about that. I have RR0025 in easy 9/10 all original. 25th rr ever made . Thats my top Jackson. I have 32 USA's thats my most prized one.
Nice....VERY nice.

If you ever want to sell one of the USA's...shoot me a PM.
