Probably a solder problem.

Could be a solder joint, could also be your switch. To test the switch wire the hot wire of the Steve's Special to another spot on the switch to see if the pickup sounds good there (swap it with the single perhaps). If it does then the switch is kaput.

how close is the pickup to the strings? If its further away that the other pickups that may be some concern. get a screwdriver and move the pickup closer to the strings and see if that helps. good luck!

How do I know If my P-ups are Bad?

I have a S470FM with a Steve Special in the bridge.

When I place pick up switch to the FULL bridge position (All the way down) the volume is significantly reduced in comparison to the other 4 positions.

I inspected the wires on the switch and pots and it appears that no wires have been detached.

I plan to re-solder the switch to see if that fixes it.

Has anyone else experienced this problem. Love to hear some insight/tips.
