Plus, the guitar is so perfect and mint, it still has all the clear plastic covering the plates, and I'm sure I'd sell it at a loss. I think I can grow comfortable on this,,,and end up REALLY liking it.

Re: PGM100RE arrives Tuesday/heel question The guitar just arrived. It is MINT MINT MINT. Has all tags, paperwork, plaque, original case..........I can't tell it from any brand new guitar I've had arrive. However, upon picking it up, I feel that this heel joint might be an issue for me. I'll have to find a few minutes to try it out later, but I just may be posting this for sale on this forum later today, as much as I truly hate to. So......if anyone is in the market for a basically "as new" PGM100RE...........this may be your chance. Keep an eye on the classifieds.....if I decide to sell, it will be known by later today. |

Re: PGM100RE arrives Tuesday/heel question Yes pictures...or as they say...It diden't happaned. AS stated above...you might notice a tune advantage with the square heel, i wouldn't,but as also stated upper fret playing would be easier on aanj. Then again depends on how big hands you got, you might get usued to it fast and still be able to play 21-24. Play aanj 1 hours and change to heel, you will feel it, or you don't. |

Re: PGM100RE arrives Tuesday/heel question Even if you play past the 17th I dont think it will have a huge effect. The only time I notice is when I compare access from the 22nd to the 24rth for fun...... I actually prefer the square block over the AANJ......I dont know why but after years of playing the AANJ I find myself more comfortable with the square heel. I play above the 12 fret alot and I never have an issue with access or clearence.....you gonna love it! |

Re: PGM100RE arrives Tuesday/heel question Well, I guess if it poses a problem for me, people on this forum will get first dibs at a mint PGM100 with all hang tags, etc. I got a feeling I'm going to really like it , though. I just sold a bolt on ESP MII deluxe with a prominent heel joint........only problem there was that the neck was too thick and the strings spaced too close together. But the upper fret access was fine. |

Re: PGM100RE arrives Tuesday/heel question Completely agree with IbanezFreak777! But also as said before, the tone improvment alone is worth adapting for! |

Re: PGM100RE arrives Tuesday/heel question I have to disagree.. Playing higher up will be a little more difficult.. I own both and whenever I switch to an AANJ its just always easier to play up top. That hasn't changed in all the years I have been playing.. Imagine there was a brick in the neck joint, its going to always be harder to get to the top.. Its only minimal, but it will always be a little more difficult cause its a little thicker... with all that said... I still use both syles of Neck joints regularly and I deal with it.. |

I've been playing both for many years. Unless you spend a LOT of time playing above the 17th, you won't even notice the difference in heels. In fact, you may find that you like the tone of the square heel better, a lot of us do. |

PGM100RE arrives Tuesday/heel question I sold off some more non-Ibanez guitars, and was able to fund the purchase of a mint, barely used PGM100RE. I'm used to the all access neck joint on all of my other Ibanez, including my PGM300RE. Do you think the heel joint will be a big change? I'll find out in two days, I'm just wondering what others have found when going between the all access and old style heel joint. It seems to be done in a way to still offer easy reach to the higher frets. |
