Great guitars man, I've always loved the 700 series, used to own one, just an absolutely wonderful neck.

I like it. I don't really use the tremolo that much; in fact, I don't even think I've screwed the whammy bar into that bridge in 10 years, but the bridge itself is fine. The saddles are independently height adjustable so you can fine tune the action. It stays in tune like a boss, I'm talking after years of not playing it it was still in tune when I picked it back up again.

It wouldn't feel right with a Floyd Rose type trem nor a fixed bridge. I think the bridge they chose was the right decision.

It's a great guitar. The neck has 24 frets, is 19.5mm at the first fret at 21.5mm at the 12th fret. That's 0.5mm thicker than the Wizard II/III neck. Its radius is smaller, however, at 305mm. It's a good neck for whatever kind of music you want to play. It's thin enough for metal, but more rounded than the Wizard necks, yet thick and deep enough that you can do blues stuff. The neck is a Viper neck and as far as I know it was only ever used on RT series. It's thinner and has a bigger radius than the JS necks (which I think are too thick).

The alder body sounds awesome. The Jem7VWH has an alder body, too. I've heard people complain about V series pickups before in basswood bodied guitars. They sound great in this guitar. Disclaimer: I don't know much about pickups so don't put too much faith in that last part.

Re: Family shot

I guess some people think it's boring, but it was done right on this one. Put a maple finger board and V series on it and it's exactly like my old 550, the first guitar I really connected with. Those pickguards are the perfect touch, and the shark teeth on yours is just off the hook!

What do people say about black on black?

I like the way the thin white trim around the pick guard looks. It's black on black but outlined in white.

Re: Family shot

Forgot to mention, I am the only owner of the RT, and the RG has had at least two previous owners.

Re: Family shot

The RT650 is absolutely fantastic. If it had a maple board it would definitely put it over the top. Cool Rabbit as well
