$270
The gotoh bridge & sprezels would cost you roughly $130 by themselves, so $140 for the rest of the guitar was a great great buy...

It's brighter, more open sounding, not like that narrow beefy low mid thing a gibson LP has....
It's GREAT for soloing and the cleans are really really good as well....

Great score. Love these vintage Ibby's. The body and fretboard look really clean for a 40 year old guitar.

that thing is awesome. reminds me of the new custom classics. I bet the thinner neck helps being that its a bolt on.

How does it compare to a Gibson LP tone?

NGD!!! Maple F.board, lawsuit Ibby...

I got a STEAL on this. It's a rare early '70s Ibanez 2398, pre ser#.
It has a maple fretboard (the 1st reason I got it ). Actually Ibanez put a maple board on a lp body before gibson did. Ibanez did it in '73, gibson didn't do it until '75.
When I got it, it was missing both pickups and only had a vol & tone knob for the bridge pickup.
It came with a set of non-locking sprezels,a gotoh bridge and a allparts tailpiece, all of which was uninstalled so I had to put it back together.
The original hardware was gold w/black pickup rings and pick guard (mine was missing the pick guard but I like it better with out it anyway.)
I'm going to get some black locking tuners for it as the ones I got now are silver and don't match anything else...
I added a Duncan custom in the neck and a F1 in the bridge. I also used a push/pull on the tone to split the coils.
I like that duncan custom in the neck even though it's designed for the bridge because it's not very boomy on the bottom end.
The neck has a lot on resemblance to a wizzard II (the other reason I bought it). My buddy has a LP and he couldn't believe how thin this neck is....

Now for pics.....(the last one shows how it came from the factory)
