K_T I'm thinking of just getting a regular Jem 6string.. and then a 7-string.. so I'll get 2 guitars instead... and I'm buying schaller tremolos... =P

Those Korn guitars are really nice... I like #4... I'll just buy a used, cheap 7-stringed with fixed bridge and swap the pickups =)

#4 is sweet too. Like them or not, Korn dudes have good taste in 7's.

Drew I was wondering when someone would point out the Evo reference there...

Lo-Pro performing as well as any other liscnesed design when properly set up? You've obviously never played one, man. The debate here is whether anything else can even come close to a lo pro when properly set up.

Buy one, you won't be dissapointed.

K_T I really want a Jem vwh replica but as a 7-stringed version, but since it looks like it cannot be done, without becoming really expensive.. I have to re-design my guitar.... =( Maybe I'll have a flamed top or something instead...

Two hands31 Oh, and if you pick chrome or black instead of gold, you've got an EVO replica.

Reaper there's a pic posted in the one in Gear and Equipment under "pickup covers" that looks kinda like what you're describing...

K_T Actually, I'm thinking of remaking the whole guitar...

Making the guitar more like a black one... maybe a swirl... and have a chrome FR =)
08-27-2002 03:25 PM
EKG Is this what you are looking for?

I would recommend going all chrome or cosmo. The gold plating is quite expensive. You can buy all the chrome or cosmo stuff you need for less than just the trem to be plated
08-27-2002 03:14 PM
K_T I don't know if I can use the lo-pro though...

Ok, one option is that I have the tremelo gold-plated... i don't really know the cost.. I've heard it's expensive...

or I can go with a chrome one... but then I'll have to have tuners in chrome also, or it would have to many colors on the guitar... Maybe I should make the guitar black instead... But I really like the VWH, but I also want a 7-stringed guitar! =)

Reaper I'd like to just say two things:

a) as most other people have said, I would take a mismatched bridge that stays in tune (edge or lopro). Silver (chrome) on white wouldn't look too bad (IMO... I would definately take it, but once again, it's your decision, not mine)

b) The carvin trem also comes in gold. I honestly have never used one, and cannot vouch for either one of them, but you asked for options. you can read reviews of carvin's 7-string axes on, some of which may be equipped with the trem. I would read these reviews before making any kind of decision about the two I mentioned. I also can't tell you off the top of my head either company's international shipping policies. Within the USA, carvin charges a flat rate of $8 for such items.

not to be a pain in the ass, but shipping an Edge is too expensive, but the necessity of gold is a must? huh? I'd rather have a mismatched trem that stays in tune.

Two hands31 Not recessed? What do you mean? A VWH without a recessed trem?

Just go for the Lo-Pro dude. C'mon, a VWH without a Lo-Pro is like a Squire without the suck.
08-27-2002 01:29 PM
K_T I think the Lo-Pro is pretty much as good as any licensed if propeply set-up... The only problem would be that it's not recessed

and oh, a Jem 7 vwh w/o gold tremelo? no way! =)
