Yeah. You can't blame me for trying when you have such wonderful guitars though, can't you? .

I'm very close to downtown Silver Spring, but my bike commute to work at Bethesda takes me very close to where you are probably. You have nothing to be afraid of though, my time is better served practicing than "acquiring" new guitars. Like you said, I've picked up the guitar two months ago after a 13-14 year break

joking aside that is one beautiful guitar.
You've been here two months and I think this is the second time you've offered to swing by and relieve me of my guitars. I better make sure my doors are locked LOL!

Thanks. It's a J.Custom RG8620SNT. S is obviously for "spalted". It was not a regular model. There were supposedly only 15 made and one sadly had the neck removed and swapped with a different guitar. There is also supposed to be one additional made in the PR finish.

I don't think once the wood is dry and refinished that it could spread any fungus:

Nothing here negative about ambrosia maple. It seems to be different looks, not structural weakness.

A luthier on a different forum suggested this might be a very mild case of ambrosia maple.

And even though he said the wood is perfectly fine, the thought of beetles having tunneled that part of the neck and having left fungus behind does kind of worry me....
