Yeah, I've spent a lot of time on a Wolfgang at a pretty lame guitar store around me- aside from a RG-520QS i sold them (that they subsequentally beat the hell out of- scratched the body all up and everything), a wolfgang was the only decent axe in the store. I like how it felt- the slightly shortened scale helped a LOT in low-register stretches, and didn't have a pronounced effect on the tone. The thing, not suprisingly, is just BUILT for tapping.
That said, i'd REALLY like to give a MM Axis a try...

The trem on this thing is fantastic. Although I havent found much use for the D-tuner yet, im very impressed by it's ability to hold tune and the great action.
The pick-ups are great, they are VERY hot, so you have to turn the volume down for Clean tones. But they sing magically for clean tones. The "cathedral" tone is what I love the most from these pups, they sound majestic on the various amps ive experimented with. For distortion they are are great, they cut through nicely and have great harmonics.
The EB music man is a great guitar too. I wish I would have had the chance to try one out, but there are no dealers around!

Nice - I almost bought one just like that but settled instead on an EBMM Axis (which I've recently sold). How're the trem and pups in that thing?
Here's a pic

bought myself a new guitar - pics inside
Here's a lil story for y'all to read. I went to the big city (calgary, alberta) for a week and i decided to trade in my guitar on a new one. I was very unassure which model I wanted to get, but I have always wanted a Soloist.
Anyhow, I played plenty of guitars including new Jem's, JS1000's, Signature ESP models, a Jackson Dinky, a few BC Rich's, a few PRS (dreaming though). But I NEVER found a JAckson soloist in the whole damn city. I called places and they were only available for order, and there was no deal's really, everyone wanted LOTS of money to bring in these guitars.
So anyhow, of all the guitars I played, I just LOVE the Peavey Wolfgang. IT has a wonderful feel on the neck, thats the reason why i bought it, the neck. It's taking me a while to get used to the upper fret access (fairly large heel) and it's only a 22 fretter, but I am working on it.
I have a few pictures within the links I am providing. I learned something through this experience....... don't go out and read constant reviews, go to a store and play many instruments so you know which one feels right to you. I never even considered a Wolfgang before this weekend.
Thanks for reading!
