Save some money, get a better trem and buy the Gotoh Licensed Floyd Rose. Gotoh made the Edge Pro in your guitar, and their licensed Floyd is a higher quality than OFR and Edge.

It would also be less hassle to find another Edge. I have no experience of owning an Edge guitar but my impression is it's not much worse than an OFR

Hey mate,

I think that isn't a good idea! 2 years ago I bought a german made 7-string Floyd Rose for my UV7BK! The body may be the same i think! believe me i realy tried everything but it doesn't work. on the end where the high e-string is the floyd touches the wood of the guitar body.

the other thing is with buying such a floyd it isn't done. you'll need a different"springblock", too! the one which will be on it may be to big!

Fit original Floyd Rose in Ibanez RG2550E

Hello. I have an Ibanez RG2550E which has an Edge Pro tremolo with very worn knife edges, and can probably not be any more sharpened... I would love to install an original Floyd Rose (German made) in the guitar, not only because it is a kick ass trem, but also because I love to have a "non-standard" guitar. My question is, do I have to do any routing to fit this tremolo?
I have read some threads about this, and I cannot really find more than one source who says that it fits, which I am not comfortable with (I want to know for sure when I am going to spend 200$). Does anyone have a significantly reliable source who says that it fits (or not fits), and do I have any replacement options beside the Edge Pro if not..?
Thank you for your answers!
