Re: JPM confusion

Just one of the many LACS guitars JP sold off when he jumped ship.

Hey Rich,

I've seen a JPM desert camo on your page... Can you tell me something about it?

Re: JPM confusion

It was never in the US catalog as you know. But there was no reason to call it a P1, until there was a P2

Re: JPM confusion

So were they actually stamped A in the neck pocket? I saw a picture of a B neck pocket.

Re: JPM confusion

There was an A with HUSA cert on ebay, the serial number was from the single batch of A's and it matched on the cert. I think the A's were supposed to be home market guitars when made, the one sold in the US might have been a sample.

Re: JPM confusion

So the US actually saw A's with the multi-colored pickups? What were the A's actually classified as in Japan?

I actually looked through your site earlier to verify what I was saying and found it interesting that many of the P1's had earlier serials than the A's. I had assumed that the A's were the first run and were more accurate to what John was playing and then the B's and P1's would be later production.

I wonder what their reasoning was for only offering the multi-colored pickups on such a small lot of guitars? Seems like they should have done that on all of them.

Re: JPM confusion

The A and B were used as model designations by other countries. the US only used P1, even if it was one of the few A's they sold with the multi colored pickups.

They were all JPM100's, followed by the paint code.

Re: JPM confusion

Technically there's also the JPM100/JPM100A and JPM100B.

Re: JPM confusion

NO, sorry! I forgot the 90th HAM

As you said it has a flamed maple top and an ebony fretboard.

The P1 is next to the 90th

The P1 and P2 got damn rare these days. I've seen more 90th for sale than P1s

Re: JPM confusion

Is the 90th and that one other yellow and blue flame maple one the same spec wise?

P1 - classic picasso
P2 - Different colours
P3 - white/black
P4 - camo

Which p model is worth the most excluding the 90th and other one?

Re: JPM confusion

The "different" JPM's are all the same guitars!

Basswood body
Rosewood fretboard w/offset dots
medium frets
LoPro Edge Bridge
Dimarzio Steve's Special in the Bridge
Dimarzio Air Norton neck PU
3 way switch
...

the only differences between P1, P2, P3 and P4 are the colors used on the
Picasso (Picasso = P) graphic!

What are all the different petrucci sig ibanez models?

What does p1, p2, p3, and p4 mean?
