No, it was made in Japan, as Rich already mentioned.

Yes it came from the factory as you have it.

Re: What's my RG

Could it be possible, that my RG left the factory exactly like it ist now?
I ask because it really doesn't look rebuilt to me at all. Also it seems unlikely to me, that somebody modificates a guitar with only (not top notch) original Ibanez parts, moreover it has hardly any wear, was played very rarely.

Re: What's my RG

450's were MIJ but with the Lo TRS1 trem as the downgrade from the 500 series.

Re: What's my RG

Yes. It would be considered a 450 (not a MIJ axe) but it doesn't really matter.

Re: What's my RG

The result is:
The body stamp says: 450DX
The neck stamp says: RG480AH

Does that mean the body is korean?
I wish I would have never found out!

But it should also mean that the neck is the original wizard, right?

japanese neck, korean Body, japanese trem.... Frankenstein, I suppose!
Though it was all assambled so well, that I thought not one screw was ever loosened on that guitar.

I'm still not sure what I have here...

Re: What's my RG

Thank you guys!
I will remove the neck and check the stamp.

Re: What's my RG

Used guitars are sometimes modded past the point of being able to pinpoint what they are without checking the pocket and neck markings. Sometimes as Glen pointed out they're just not in published material at all. And sometimes they're easy. But bottom line it is what the body stamp says it is.

Re: What's my RG

Just pointing out the Ibanez catalogs are not 100% reference and don't include small runs, dealer/distributor exclusive runs, etc. Remove the neck and you will see the ID stamps.

In a way it doesn't really matter. It's not a collector piece sometimes the less you know the better in this case.

Re: What's my RG

Hi Agent540,
thanks for your reply!
I found that one, too. It has the wrong trem, the wrong hardware colour and the wrong pickups. Still pretty close, but not a hit...

Does nobody have an idea?
I realised, that this thread is in the wrong category. Could it be moved, please?

Re: What's my RG

Hi everybody,

I know that this thread is pretty old, but I am trying also to identify my RG, and it seems, that I have exactly the same guitar as the TO.

- It was sold to me as "RG450"
- It has a F99***** stamp on the headstock
- It has AH pickups
- It has a Lo-TRS trem

I measured the neck with the following results (in mm):
width at 1st fret: 43,8
width at last fret: 57,2
thickness at 1st fret: 18,0
thickness at 12th fret: 21,0
The neck feels very thin snd ist rather flat with "shoulders" - so i would call it a flat D-profile. Could this be the original wizard-neck, since the mesurements don't fit exactly?

It is back with a mirror-pickguard an has a rosewood fretboard with dot-inlays. According to the board-rules I am unfortunately not (yet) allowed to post pics or links.
I love this guitar, it sounds and plays amazingly. Even the trem, that seems to be disliked form most players, works just perfectly for me.

My problem is, that I can't find a guitar with those specs and looks in any catalogue. The guitar that comes closest to mine is the RG450AH, but it has a different trem and different pickups. Can somebody give me more indormations about my guitar?

Thank you!
Keiler
