Re: My Rg550 Ltd ed New Penny

well it's easier to bend high up the neck. Same principle as the Jem. Don't forget back then these Rg's were the closest thing to a Jem.

Cool! Mine is all virginal (apart from some advanced fingerings here and there) and as the factory intended. Tho i do need my frets replacing.

do scalloped frets really make the difference?

I called her "Penny"

Cool channel, I subscribed

Re: My Rg550 Ltd ed New Penny

well, I had a few things done:

I changed the lo pro edge with and edge (I swapped the bridge with another RG cos back then I liked the edge more);
The neck is scalloped from the 21st fret to 24th;
Pickguard changed with a gold mirror one;
Pickups are Evolution neck and Evo2 in the bridge;
Pull/push tone selector for a split single coil (just the neck pickup).

This has been my main guitar for years. The neck feels amazing. If you wanna hear what I recorded with this guitar listen to this:

I recorded 2 albums with this guitar, travelled anywhere in the world with her.
And like anyone else here, I named her "Dora".

Re: My Rg550 Ltd ed New Penny

Thanks guys and girls!

Having never really nerded out about guitars until now! (playing for 21yrs) I decided to swat upon info on my guitar to help in my service options etc (I actually don't have a clue )

My guitar was made at the
Fuji-gen Plant, Japan
1998 (year older than i thought)
Production Number: 46604
Rg550 Limited Ed in New Penny
Rosewood fretboard, stickered inlays

It seems the more i look the rarer this is, is this right?? (which gives me a bigger nerd on btw)
I just knew it played like a dream and i had to own it

If you want your guitar insured and it stays at home just add it to your home's contents insurance, with it listed with a value. That's all you need, you don't need dedicated insurance just for your guitar.

Nice. Ibanez needs more solid colors like this....and let the quilt trend pass!

My Rg550 Ltd ed New Penny

I had my Rg for a while now and it never really gets to see the outside world, plus, i can't find any pics of one anywhere.
So I figured I would share it with the world after a well needed service!

Guts out

Thanks to Gonch at WRAITH CUSTOM GUITARS Who showed me all the steps
for adjusting the neck, replacing the Trem springs and setting the correct action.

I am Incredibly happy with my RG now now where to get insurance????
