Re: Where do you buy your Ibanez guitars? In the past I have bought 2 Ibanez guitars new out of the music store but lately I've been buying off of craigslist because I do not like how the price of new Ibanez guitars has risen in recent years. I'd really like to buy a guitar from Rich but I'm nervous about buying a guitar that has to get mailed to me and that I can't try first. |

Re: Where do you buy your Ibanez guitars? Yeah what GM said. I bought a Proline 1440 with a nice hard case for $200 on CL because the guy's friend told him that the body didn't come with the neck that was on it. It didn't even need much cleaning and was in great shape. Then fairly recently I found a 550 DX PN on CL that was really dirty. And some larger dings too, but I got it for $150. The case was beat and smelled like ass to be honest, but I chucked it and at that price, I really don't even care if the electronics are working or not. |

what are some of the issues you've had to fix on a used guitar? I've been averse to used just because I'm concerned what might be a 'hidden issue' |

Re: Where do you buy your Ibanez guitars? Lately craigslist, musicgoround and a pawnshop once in a while. I am only into late 80, early 90 stuff lately and only odd colors like cosmic mist, heather pearl, burgundy metallic and purple neon. Still hoping for an emerald green 550. |

Re: Where do you buy your Ibanez guitars? I haven't bought a new Ibby since 1999. everything I've bought has been on the forums here, on Craigslist, or on ebay........... although the flea markets have nice little gems once in awhile. |

Re: Where do you buy your Ibanez guitars? My last Ibanez, in 2006, was local but if I go with one in the future then Rich is the obvious choice. I didn't know about him back then. There was a time I was thinking regular or Premium S or RG, mid priced stuff like that, or a budget Artcore he had on his site. He pretty much matches the good prices out there but hand picks his stuff and can set it up in a way a big shop doesn't have time for. But he really shines when it comes to having the high end stuff 90% percent of the stores are too scared to carry. |

Re: Where do you buy your Ibanez guitars? I bought my latest Artcore AS73 at a local mom and pop shop for $40 dollars more than what GC charges and was happy with giving the local shop business. Before that I bought a Blazer 550 and Allan Holdsworth AH-10 signature guitar at a now out of business local shop. I tend to see cheaper Ibanezes these days at GC, mostly under $500 dollars since that's what sells quickly. For Fender they have a lot of MIMs, MICs, and at most American Standard but shy away from vintage reissues and the expensive Deluxe and custom shop models. For Gibson there's a lot of simpler models but maybe only a couple of the high end things. Before the recession there was a good representation of the whole line of any given company but it doesn't make sense to carry high end stuff in GC if it is just going to sit there. GC is about offering the lowest prices but moving the high traffic stuff first and foremost. You won't see a lot of Prestiges, JS and Jems in a GC today like the old days. |
