Talking of the Eclipse, PMT in Bristol, UK, are selling a brand new ESP Eclipse for 741 or something like that. They've obviously made a mistake so someone get their behind down there and buy it before they realise their mistake!

after weeks of adapting, knowing, understanding each other, I come to a conclusion that this EC-1000 is.............. my best NON ibanez guitar.

yeah, I also have ESP M-IICTM, and Japanese Fernandes Revolver, but.. they did not give me the same impact as the EC-1000 does.
those two just another super strat that can't compete with my RGs.

I forgot to mention, the place that makes that guitar also makes several models for ESP.

I know for sure they make the ec401 models.

I can get them for around 250 bucks if anyone would like to take the challenge. It's become one of my favorite guitars. The pickups are really good and the frets are incredible. Excellent quality guitar for a great price.
Given the money some people here waste buying and selling guitars on a weekly basis, 250 dollars is nothing to try one. I wil never sell it.

The batch mine came from was a run of 100 guitars made for a customer that couldnt pay at the last minute, so that's why they are being sold for cheap. I can't lie, they are great. I have another one coming in a honey burst top. They weigh about 9lbs and change a piece. Very nice solidly constructed guitars with a nice clear sound and great high gain tone.

That's a very nice one. I saw one of these (below) which is also a rendition of the EC1000s and liked it on every level:

http://www.rhapsody.fr/esp-ltd-ec-10...-vbk,3034.html

It's pretty similar to my Viper with regular passive pickups but has a very nice ebony fretboard and nicely finished frets. The EMGs on this particular guitar give it a lot of power not usually associated with straight ahead humbuckers and seems to be more geared towards metal only crowd but I still like it a lot. I also like this model from 2014 which promises the same stuff but with maple fretboard and would like a chance to try that one out.

The company who makes these makes guitars for many brands. This is branded as "SVK".

I paid 275 dollars new for that guitar. I figured if it wasnt what I expected it was a pretty guitar to hang on the wall, but it is a freaking awesome guitar and there wont be any more made once they sell out. If interested let me know and I will put you in touch. He has some in honeyburst, black, white and transparent wine red. They really kick some major ass and I havent been able to put it down. I have some pretty expensive guitars and I know quality. These are pretty damned good.

Do a google search on them. There is a site called mylespaul with a thread about them and how happy people are with them. If you are on facebook, I can send you straight to the horse himself and you can talk to him.

If you want a nice Les Paul for cheap, this is THE ONE.

I picked this up for dirt cheap and it's freaking awesome. It's chinese made, but with excellent quality and all american parts under the supervision of the guy who designed many of the JS models and Jems including the DNA.

He had 100 of them made for a customer in Brazil who couldnt pay the bill at the last minute and was selling them for enough to break even. It is set necked, the pickups are great, the fretwork is awesome and super hard. It's all mahogany and maple. weighs over 9 lbs. No cheap s&*t. The action is so low and buzz-free I'm finding it hard to get used to. I think the only thing I may do is put some grover tuners on it. Other than that, it's perfect and is better than my real les Paul. Sounds great too. Nice and clear with NO dead notes anywhere. They all ring out evenly.

Oh, he also makes a lot of guitars for ESP and has for some time.
I was a skeptic at first, but I am buying another one too just to customize with black hardware and zebra pickups. I have never had a guitar this good for the price.

Plus he sets each one up for you exactly how you want it himself before sending it out to you.

the thing is, from all the 11 guitar I have now , 8 of them are ibanez : all RG old school 17-20/56mm neck. I really don't feel needing anymore of these.
I really don't have any favor for the newer Ibanez.
so it's time for something outside my comfort zone.

Re: LTD EC-1000 SSB: worth it? A good guitar?

Overall, and I am sure we probably all agree here, there's no company quite like Ibanez (jazz, LP shape, superstrats, Jems, Satches, djent weapons, etc) but there are good individual guitars out there from nearly every maker.

The Eclipse/EC is like my Les Pauls but a little more on the shredder side, probably due to big frets and usually hotter pickups, and bridges the gap between fast Ibanez shredder and old school big necked, heavy Gibson/Epiphone Les Paul Standard/Custom.
A person would really have to be completely biased to hate a top of the line LTD EC-1000 but then think the Artists and Artist AR lines from Ibanez are far superior. The ECs hold their own with similarly priced Ibanezes and are fast enough. If a player has an issue with EC-1000 not being fast enough and not as good as something like the Ibanez Artist AR420, then it's the player and not the guitar.

my first impression : the body is thin, it's not like any les paul which is thick.
light weight ( of course because the thinner body), neck is pretty convy, as soon as I got it stringed, I will compare it to my M-II neck.
overall, built wise it's not bad for a MII.
the flame top also really nice ( veneer).

I hope I'm gonna like it, it's my second les paul shape guitar.
I once had an ESP Eclipse, but don't like it at all... but it was like 10 years ago.
10 years ago, I did not like anything that don't have 'IBANEZ" logo on it...

it also marks my second purchase of this year which...... not Ibanez.
seems like I'm starting abandon Ibanez for my future purchase.

Another guitar to check out in this same category is the Fernandes Ravelle. Nice China made LP style guitar. The Elite's come with a Sustainer in the neck

The EC-1000 my teacher plays is the flame maple one with the cream/black zebra Duncan pickups. His guitar has a JB/59 combo.
