Well, if you find a good tech its definitely worth it. I had to go through about 4-5 people before I found my tech. The others returned my guitars with mystery scratches and all sorts of bull**** but this guy is really good. He can be late a lot of the time but other than that he's awesome.

I wouldn't trust either of my babies to someone else.
I'm the only person who knows how I want the guitar setup, so I'm the only person that's going to touch it.
The only thing I'd ever have someone else do is frets, but I do intend, someday, to learn how to do that too.

I was thinking this exact same thing Even I can change my strings on all of my Ibanezes and my Carvin with an OFR. When I'm lazy I'll take it in and have it done but usually I wait until I have time and do it myself.

Actually, I do mean "I have had the same set of strings on this guitar for 15+ years". I know that because I have been in the same house for 15+ years and I do not change my own strings when it comes to my guitars with Floyd Roses. Yes, I am a wimp in that regard. I know that I have never taken this guitar to the local store/luther for a string change and adjustments. Maybe that would be a good polling question: how long have you gone without changing your strings on a guitar that you play regularly (at least once a week)?

Yeah they are. My guitar teacher has a white RG550 with a matching headstock and he told me that back then, even over here in Japan, most were black headstocks and that's the reason he bought his 550. Still has it too I wish he'd show it to me

I just pulled out my 1987 rg560 after a sad 7 tears alone in its case. It was basically in tune, just slight adjustment on 2 strings. Buy the way It's for sale if anyone interested.

Or maybe the guitar came with secret little tech elfs, that change the strings when you're asleep.
