Re: RG2xxv Replacement 5-Way Switch (plz)

Ok I found something there, for a hsh which mine is originally. I can see where I may have gone wrong so will give it a shot, otherwise I'll wire it back to stock without the push/pull.

Thanks for steering me to the Dimarzio site.

Re: RG2xxv Replacement 5-Way Switch (plz)

I usually follow the wiring diagrams in the Dimarzio site. They have wiring schematics for a lot of common wiring configurations. Or maybe draw a diagram of where you are currently and what config you're going for someone can help. If you decide to replace your 5 way switch a YM-50 would be a good choice or a Dimarzio would be just fine.

RG2xxv Replacement 5-Way Switch (plz)

I've been playing inside my rg and have stuffed up the 5-way wiring.

The only i.d. on it says "5W". I can't grasp the logic of how it works as far as wiring goes and was thinking of replacing it with something more generic that has more support available, like a Dimarzio switch or something.

Does anyone know how to wire these things? If not, what would be a good replacement, that is easier to work with?

I'm at the end of the line as far as trying to figure it out.

I've got a Tonezone in the bridge, Vintage Rails in the middle and Air Norton in the neck. I have all the wiring colours etc worked out for those, just don't get the 5-way.

I'm mid-install of a push-pull volume pot, which is all wired up to switch between series and parallel on the bridge. It was doing this that I've lost my way with the 5-way.

Thanks and suggestions welcome,
