you can ask him to take a photo of the bottom of the pickup or maybe you have the photo of the guitar so that you can post them here - usually on the bottom it has some information that will help you identify the pup - for instance DP 155 - thats tone zone

some dimarzio could be identified only by looking at them from front - like d sonic/crunch lab or x2n)

Any quick way to identify what kind of DiMarzios are on a used guitar?

Like is there way to look up via serial number?

I've found a guitar I may be interested online, and the owner's not sure what kind of pickups are on it.
