OP, one of the wiring gurus should be along to help. Wiring gives me a headache aspirin doesn't cure.

Re: JEMTH10 - Sustainiac on VLX91

Now that I checked it is actually visible in the diagram I have, I just never noticed. So I have to fix my statement: I should really pay more attention

Re: JEMTH10 - Sustainiac on VLX91

It matters if you want the inner coil of the neck pickup active with the single.

It's a wiring diagram, not an installation diagram, you have to know all JEM's have the neck pickup flipped, it's about as common info on a JEM as there is.

Re: JEMTH10 - Sustainiac on VLX91

Hmmm... I think Evos are symmetrical in design, it should not matter in terms of sound which way it is installed. The common way is to have the wiring come out from the side of the electronics? If Iba thinks the wiring should come out from the other side it should be mentioned in the wiring diagrams in my opinion. I can't read their minds. Just my opinion, not meaning to start a feud.

Re: JEMTH10 - Sustainiac on VLX91

That's because the pickup is supposed to be flipped, installed reversed with lead bass/neck side. The wiring is correct, the position of your pickup isn't.

Re: JEMTH10 - Sustainiac on VLX91

One thing I can tell you: some of the official Jem wiring diagrams by Ibanez are not correct. The neck pickup wiring is wrong in them. It leads to a setup where the upper (neck side) coil of the pickup is active (along with the mid pickup) in the position where the lower coil of the neck pickup and the mid pickup should be active. Ibanez should really pay more attention.

Not sure if this helped at all...

JEMTH10 - Sustainiac on VLX91

I'm trying to install a pickup sustainiac on my JEM10TH and encounter difficulties in the pin assignments on VLX91 switch.
Comparing the original design of VLX91 with Sustainiac instructions the connection between C1 and C2 corresponds to the original plan with the written VLX91, but numbering does not match absolutely.
I think there is a mistake in the drawing and that the deck #2 is to be inverted horizontally turning.
At that point even than the original wiring diagram of the JEM the pins assignments are ok.
I would appreciate confirmation from someone definitely more practical than me.
