I use one of the Yamaha Pacifica "super tele's" Its a great playing/sounding guitar. I put a Rio Grande Muye Grande pickup in the bridge. Rumor has it thats what Billy Gibbons uses in a lot of his tele's. The Rio Grande pups dont get a lot of press but are great sounding pups. |

Don't forget another major heavy Tele player: Tom Morello. A lot of the tracks he recorded with Rage Against The Machine and now with Audioslave were his Tele. |

i just picked up a Fender American Standard Tele (NOS- at a REALLY GREAT PRICE w/ ALL THE CASE CANDY!!!) and i'm still getting use to it as i have lots of "super strats/ Jem" style guitars. i used it at a gig recently and i got LOTS of compliments on the tone - the guitar is totally stock. i am putting a stainless mirrored pickguard on it very shortly. i like having something with a different feel and tone than all my other guitars. my main axe as of late has benn a Wolfgang std trem and i think my Tele and one of my Ibanez guitars are my live "main three" to use for different feels and song styles. it is a very well made guitar and stays in tune wonderfully. good luck finding the one for you! ![]() |

so, he likes to play some moments fast has hell ![]() If you want bang for your buck, check out the MIM Classic series. Great wood, decent electronics. I've got a 50s classic that I love. If you're used to a Wizard neck, it'll take some getting used to (7.5" radius, vintage wire), like a baseball bat. Great feel. Duncan has a great line of Tele pickups. The Nocaster is a great tone, and the Donohue is also a favorite. If you think stock Tele pickups are shrill, throw some Bardens in there. Serious icepick. I went to a big music store last Sunday and played about 20 Teles. I really fell hard for a rosewood boarded Highway 1 model, and I keep thinking about going back and getting it. I have no need for it, but that's never stopped a GAS attack before ![]() jim |

I love Tele's too. I currently have two, a Richie Kotzen Signature and a Fender American Std. Both have Dimarzio Twang King PU in the neck. The Kotzen has a Dimarzio Chopper T in the bridge and the American Std. has a Fast Track T in the bridge. Either the Chopper T or the Fast Track T are great bridge PU's for Tele's IMO. Both are slightly higher output than a standard tele bridge PU, but still retain that "Twang" that Tele's are famous for. Although the Chopper T has slightly more "Twang" than the Fast Track does. Check 'em out. |

Petie | I'm a huge fan of Seymour Duncan's Quarter Pounder telecaster pickups. They sound huge, and are very responsive to volume control changes. I use mine for full-on metal as well as clean blues, just by turning down the volume and switching to both pickups. |

I have a 1992 MIM Tele, with top-load bridge and poplar body... It's still my #1, desipte many other "Better" guitars. I routed mine for dual humbuckers and dumped a pair of EMG's in it (81 bridge, 85 Neck) ![]() Sounds wicked... |
