|jemsite||ignore the serial numbers in cases such as these. too many variables in Japan. probably was made in 2002 in prepation for 2003 model inventory... glen|

sounds like it might be new old stock. nothing wrong with it at all, just a new guitar from '02 that the dealer had. if it was advertised as a '03 and thats what you were expecting, then i guess you could always return it (well, sometimes you can, depends on dealer).
hope you enjoy it and got a good deal.

rg1570rb serial F02 ?
i recently purchased a 1570rb from an online retailer. is it normal to have a serial number F02*****? i thought this was an '03 guitar. if this is a dumb question, please be kind.
