|CanadianMetal||the Japanese RG 550 did have a rosewood neck....only the Japanese version....although I have seen a few in north america the number consists of about 2|

Yes they did.
If you take the neck off, chancess are it will have a stamp reading "RG570" but they were available with rosewood fingerboard from the factory.

damn I ment fretboard.....
I had a seller selling a '99 rg 550,
it has a rosewood fretboard, instead of maple.
Just wanted to make sure if they made those. :P

Maple neck for sure but the fingerboard could be either.
Usualy RG550 came with maple fingerboard but there are quite a few with rosewood as well.
I've got 1993 RG450 (same as 550 but with an EDGE and without the sculptured neck joint) and it has a rosewood fingerboard neck.
Ask the seller if the wood is light or dark.
