You can still find them on ebay sometimes. They are a lot nicer IMO than the new style of S Series guitars. In fact, I know of a black 540S on ebay right now. There's a sweet wizard neck too.

You're correct on the name. No they don't make it anymore. The S series is still available, but the body and neck aren't as thin anymore.

540S Saber?

I had an Ibanez that I bought around 1989. I believe it was called a 540S Saber. It was thinner than any guitar I ever had and played beautifully. Was I correct on the name and number? And does Ibanez still make this model?

Sorry if I sound like a lame newbie, but it's been awhile since I had that guitar (should have kept it).
