I still didnt get any wiser on you guys, hehe

Anyways, there has to be somekind of system. I seriously doubt that Ibanez wore a blindfold and just had fun with different numbers when picking out the model "name". Hehe

My opinion

Don't listen to Rich, he's having a hard time proving himself.

Most of us know the difference between a 450/550/750, a 560/760 and a 470/570/770. That's what matters. A rule without an exception is a fact, and more important, boring.

there maybe other combinations
x7x and xx7x models are rear routed (with ring or direct mounted pups), and x5x and xx5x are front routed axes with pickguards...

Have you ever learnt the french language for example ?

There's a rule for everything and a list of exception for every rule

They're general observations that don't always hold true, so, not a rule.

Just like the JEM77 being backrouted "rule" right?

there are exceptions to every "rule" but for the most part these guidelines are a good reference point.. glen

Any exceptions to a rule invalidate the rule. There is none. Not that I even know what this thread is about
