The Showbox is a great venue in the Belltown area-as good as a medium sized venue gets IMHO.

There is a local free paper called 'The Stranger' which I think is also available online-Google it and see what happens.
The Stranger has great listings for upcoming gigs etc

I have been to Seattle a couple of times and could go out every night and see a different band if I wanted to-the scene is vibrant, and not all Nirvana/PJ wannabes.

As for guitars...there is a Guitar Center (which has a poor reputation in your country I believe...).

The experience music project is worth seeing as well.

I love seattle-my fave city outside England.

I'd be curious too. I've got a trip up there in the near future, and wouldn't mind checking out the local scene. I'm hesitant, though, since in my opinion, anything that came out of Seattle in the last 10 years has been crap (Starbucks doesn't count - mmmmm... white chocolate mocha...). Still, I'm willing to keep an open mind. There should be a fair music scene of some sort up there.

How about any really decent, Ibanez-oriented, music stores? (new or used)
