Re: rg550 body I always really liked the look of the other prototype bad horsie guitar, the one called "neville", it has that same thing going on with the stained wood. I hear that when you leave it unfinished it gives more low end and aggressiveness to the sound. I'll have to try a BSB someday I guess. |

Re: rg550 body What color is your body man? If your gonna tear up a nice color, I'll send you a black 1987 RG550 body and you can strap that thing ![]() |

Re: rg550 body Well the guitar is made out of base wood, and still depends on the cut & aging of the wood & grains. So until you strip it, you will not really know how it may look. Heres my RG570 -97' stripped with just low gloss tung oil it has small grains & knots based on 3 peices of wood, while I have a RootBeer Jem which you can see the wood grain and it has really big grains running through it with no knots, based on 2 peices of wood. rg550 body im thinking of stripping the body of my 1990 rg550 and just maybe staining/varnishing the bare wood. what i want to know beforehand is does anyone here know what the bare wood looks like? does it looks good, does it have nice grain and all that, or is it really plain? |
