Re: My new Yamaha RGX 110

So you were the person who out-bid me on that guitar! LOL, I was planning on doing the 'blood splatter pattern' paint job on it.

I would also replace the pup with an X2N....

Just goes to show that it's always more the player than the guitar and that any guitar can sound good with a little TLC.

Very Cool!
I love those 80's style guitars so much. For 50quid thats a great buy!
Nice playing there too obviously!

Re: My new Yamaha RGX 110

Thanks! I think guitars are a bit like cars...as long as they've got a sound engine and chasis then everything else can be pretty much tinkered about with to get the results your after. I recently scored a red Charvette for 50 quid again and when that's had all it's work done it's gonna be killer !

My new Yamaha RGX 110

I bought this off evilbay for £50 !!!

I've had to do a fair bit of work on it to get it up to standard but I feels good now. I got it as I was getting worried about the amount of playing I was doing on my Jem (I don't want to wear it out LOL) but I think it might even be OK as live guitar now.
The black gloss paint on the back of the neck was not my cup of tea as it felt like your hand was snagging when you got warmed up so I removed that and popped some oil on there. The frets were pretty sharp as well so I had to take care of them. After some plaing around with the truss rod and saddled i managed to get a nice action out of it and the pickup isn't too shabby either

as you can see in the video I'm pretty pleased with what I ended up with for a total layout of 50quid and a couple of hours work !

I'm having some problems finding out how old it is though, If anyone knows or can help me out that would be much apreciated.

Ben
