Re: Help me decide..jacksons? I was thinking the same buying a new body and ship it to SIMS, the problem is that THAT particular RR is a freaking amazing guitar and I dont want to take it appart and move a thing,,,in fact I have been playing the LP and even if it has an amazing sustain and a very low action it doesnt compare to the super thin neck...... I will fix thats for sure...how and what I will do? I dont know... thanks for the comments |

Re: Help me decide..jacksons? Ouch! That RR looks in BAD shape. That thing was really smashed up. Sorry to hear it. It will never be the same though unfortunately. A break as serious as that, a brand new body from Warmoth (or the likes) would be your best bet. |

Re: Help me decide..jacksons? dude, get a new body from warmoth!!! you have a bolt on 22 fret axe. just get a new body made for it. then it will be a good wood like mahogany or alder...even ash! instead of that crappy poplar the old professional series was. you can have warmoth paint it as well, all in one shop, easier and cheaper than having sims fix your multi-laminated import body. just my 2 cents, but for the cash, the warmoth way is the better option. rich |

Re: Help me decide..jacksons? I think you might want to invest in some wall mounts ASAP. Now, as far as the paintjob, why don't you do a mystic dream finish that changes colors depending on the angle you're looking at the guitar? Just my 2 cents |

Help me decide..jacksons? Been a long Fan of Jacksons and also I have had good axes ( a LP custom and a Black Strat circa 1967), I bought a randy Rhoads Model soem years ago and that guitar is simply stuning, Incredible easy to play, in tune and sounds so good I never even changed a knob it in....then 5 months ago I bought a Jackson dinky super strat body in black (made in japan), Its not so bad, (had to do a ton of work to lower the action and intonate it! anyway I hated the black color so I took it appart and sent it to a friend of mine who paints cars (ferraris, lambos and such), he painted it in a white chamaleon color and depending on light it looks blueish or lilac or white, cool paint, now it has a the signatures of Petrucci, Satrianni and Erick Johnson (it was signed 4 weeks ago in the Mexico G3). I wanted to paint my RR Jackson but since I like it so much, I did not want it to take it appart or change it in any way.... BUT My kid fell down the stairs with my RR !!!, the result? both V points badly damaged the big one broken in 4 parts yeah 4.... (he came out fine thanks to my RR that acted as a stick!) Anyways now I have flued togheter the parts but I need to fill the small lacker holes. so I thought why dont I ship the body to SIMS and heve it swirled, painted or done something crazy with it..... Waht do you think? Paint it in a super glossy green, or weird color, or swirl it? here are some pics of the said axes... ![]() ![]() ![]() P.D. the jackson looks like crap because its been sitting on the floor for a month now so its all dusty and with a broken string.... any input is welcome... |
