Re: Good price for a S540? That sounds like a good deal...I would snag it if you've been looking for one. The only thing that I would be wary of is the low action with buzzing...just hoping that once set up correctly that the neck is nice and straight and no buzzing. I recently paid $5 bills + for a 92 ltd in excellent condition with the case: http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showth...hlight=s540ltd |

Good price for a S540? I went to the local shop by work on my lunch yesterday and they had a used S sitting on a stand. A closer look revealed it is a '93 S540LTD. It's in good condition and the LTD, to me, has the best of everything for an S - sharkie inlays, binding, Lo-Pro trem, and AANJ. It's Jewel Blue, which I've always liked, and has the stock IBZ/USA H/S/H config. It played effortlessly but the action was set way too low and it had major fret buzz (there was almost no fret wear) and would fret out when bending. Plus the trem was set to go down only, which I've never seen anyone do on a lo-pro. But I'm guessing all of these things could be taken care of with a good setup. Now, to the point. They want $399 for it, which seems like a really good price for an S540LTD but I haven't watched prices on these. Is it something to jump right on or is it just an average price? Thanks in advance! |
