Re: xbox360 help

Sounds like its a laser problem to me.

If its having problems reading games/dvds, then it definitely sounds like a problem with the laser unit. They are quite a temperamental piece in consoles really. My laser unit on my old PS1 (back in the day) had to replaced on two different occasions.

Put it this way, its definitely worth getting the 360 fixed. It only sounds like its a minor problem, and not that the unit is fried.

You won't lose all your saved games. They are on the removable HD, so they are perfectly fine.

Re: xbox360 help

need more info.

try another game, a cd, and a dvd then report back

ms just increased the warranty for 360 to a full year (from 90 days)... phone xbox support and ask them. you have warranty coverage (and if you purchased upon nov/dec launch tell them it's an xmas gift and they'll probably cover you

secondly, you can purchase extended warranty (2 years extra) for $39.99 USA which imho is a no-brainer.

if it's brand new return to retail for exchange or again first call support... glen

Re: xbox360 help

Yeah, you can try and repair it, or you can return it, and have a replacement within a half hour.

Point is, there isn't a specific way to fix this specific problem as far as I know. So instead of spending hours TRYING to fix it, where in the end you'll probably fail, you're better off exchanging it.

Re: xbox360 help

Try a different game, or a DVD, if it still gives you the same error, then yeah, you'll have to return it.
