Just overal quality of the guitar was disappointing.
1.Quilted maple top was not of AAAAA quality. It just didn't jump out at me.
Very vage quilt.
2. Natural binding was bumpy at certain areas. Not tight and smooth.
3. Pores in Wenge laminate in neck were open in certain parts of the neck.
4. Side pieces in headstock (the parts they glue on to reach desired width) were of a off color, so they stuck out like a sore tumb.
5. Sides of fretboard didn't have binding but looked like being done by a newbie at the factory. Not smooth and consistant. Rosewood fretboard was also not of quality I liked.
I found one guitar with nice quilt, but crappy neck. And other with reasonable neck, but with a crappy quilt.
On Rg8427F the build quility looked more consistant. I might take that one home with me. It seems that the HRG4x doesn't have the regular J.Custom quality. It's special Ibeke model, that's maybe why.
Donno, but still couple of days to decide.

Lucky you ! What were the quality issues with the HRG4 ? Are you talking about build quality or materials quality or both ?

Currently in Japan for few days and as you can imagine I hit the Ikebe stores in Tokyo today.
RG 8427F BX for 220,500 Yen.....
RG 4BX for 238,000 Yen (298,000 store price)
Was bit disappointed with overal quality of the RG4BX. For top of the line J. Custom range this shouldn`t be the case.
Still cool to be surrounded with all the top of the line J. Customs.
For now still in limbo of taking RG8427F with me from Japan.
