Re: Modded RG1570 or RG2570E I have a 2570 in silver and I like the pickups but I changed my bridge to an evo and I love it even more. Also I dislike gold so I'm actually leaning toward the 1570 here |

Re: Modded RG1570 or RG2570E I've played both the 1570 and 2570. If you get the 1570, you will definitely want to upgrade the pickups (the V-series are passable though). I ended up buying a RGA121, and loaded it with a Mo' Joe and a Paf-Joe. I am ten times happier with that upgrade. The Dimarzio/Ibnz pickups are great. They are crisp, tight, and have a lot of charactor. As per the specs, the bridge pickup is a cross between the Super Distortion (425mv, DC resistence: 13.68k, eq: bassy) and a Steve Morse (450mv, DC resistence: 9.64k, eq: middy), and the neck pickup is close to a Super 2 (425mv, DC resistence: 8.7k, eq: bright). You'll find many reviews on this forum (and many others) saying that they are not 'real' Dimarzios.....but they ARE (they come from the same factory), so don't those little politics scare you away from these pickups. Go try them out for yourself, and let your ears decide. I do have to add that the Super-series pickups (including the Dimarzio/Ibz derivatives) are very HOT and aggressive though (I have one in a RG320FM). Cheers |

Re: Modded RG1570 or RG2570E Well, I prefer the gold sort of colour, and the Ibz's are better than the Ibanez V pickups - I say go that way, and sell the Dimarzio Ibzs here if they're not to your liking....... |

Modded RG1570 or RG2570E I've recently been pondering over which to buy? An RG1570 (probably upgrade to a set of evos) or an RG2570E. Both guitars are in a similar price vicinity, though for the cash I'll have dish out for the RG2570E would easily get me the RG1570 and a set Evolution pickups. Are the Dimarzio/Ibnz pickups any good? Other than the costmetic variations and pickups they're ultimately the same guitar right? Anyhow I would really appreciate some feedback from those who own either of these guitars. cheers ![]() |
